i survived corn day...
oh you would know with only one day to spare between trip (atlanta and the beach) the hill house was sure to keep me on the go. today was the annual corn day. dad started the day by picking 534 ears of corn at 6:00am and the rest of the family was working at 7:00am to get it all shucked-n-silked. let me tell you it was a process. after silking (which by the way was done by me) mom and i blanche it. and then after a long process of cooling we cut it off the cob. we got completely done at 3:00pm with the 53 freezer bags of corn. this does not compare to our 1000 ears last year, but i assure you this was enough to handle. with only 3 people (justin got out of because he had to go to work at 10am) we did make good time says dad. his words were, "we have to be efficient" after working all day...what could be a better than shelling half a bushel of beans. oh yeah mom and i went at shellin' for a good while. after our fangers were numb we decided that dinner time was coming fast. as you might have guessed we ate roasted corn and another garden things. later tonight i met up with Brian at starbucks to catch up. tommorrow i head out to the daytona beach for my church's youth camp. i can say i definitely prayed myself to youth camp. more details and pictures are to come with the atlanta trip. well i better get some sleep before i run slap out of energy. chat at ya'll later.
